WHERE STORY IS SOVEREIGN

CynCity Productions was founded by the multifaceted force of nature, Cynthia Kaye McWilliams—an acclaimed actress, producer, and visionary storyteller. For years, Cynthia navigated the entertainment industry not just as a talent in front of the camera, but as a keen observer of its rhythms and a passionate advocate for the stories waiting in the wings. She saw a gap between raw, authentic narrative and the polished final product—a space where true artistry could flourish with the right stewardship. CynCity was born from that vision. It started not in a boardroom, but on sets, in writers' rooms, and in conversations with fellow artists. It was built on a simple, powerful belief: that the most compelling stories are often the messiest, the most human, and the ones that challenge the status quo.

Where we started, where we are

CynCity Productions is a Chicago-based production company which evolved out of CynCity Creative—a multidisciplinary team of professional artists offering services to Chicago creatives—and CynCity Studios, a versatile creative hub located founded in historic Bronzeville neighborhood on Chicago's South Side. Now CCP focuses on producing and developing original scripts. CynCity Productions is reimagining not only production but also distribution. We offer episodes and features for direct purchase on our own viewing platform, www.CynCityProductions.studio.

Our inaugural series, Sunday Evenings, the comedy-drama series, Messy Lola and our first feature film, Fried Catfish are the embodiment of this mission, and we are just getting started.
